About Googoosh: A brief History...
Googoosh, Faegheh Atashin, was born in Tehran in the year 1951. She was raised by her father, a Persian-Azeri acrobat, from an early age and was introduced to stage-life in her young years. Googoosh's melody boomed through out Iran in the 1970's and it's ripple effect is still deeply engraved into the culture. She was the idol of the day; her cloths, her hair and her make-up were copied by women of all ages. She was especially famouse for her different, often eccentric, hair styles. Every song she sang, a different color and type of hair came with it. And they all made her look beautiful! She was the true Diva of Iran. |
